How it works
- You type a carrier name or region.
- The tool searches a curated APN reference table — AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, UK carriers, EU roaming, plus generic fallbacks.
- It returns matching APN values with notes (e.g. which of several APNs matches your plan).
- No match? You get the full table and the generic fallback “internet” — then a reboot, which resolves most cases.

What this tool can and can’t do.
This is a reference lookup, not a network probe — it returns documented APN values, it can’t detect what your phone is currently set to or change it for you. APN edits happen in your phone’s settings (Cellular → Cellular Data Network on iPhone; Access Point Names on Android). If the documented APN doesn’t work, the carrier or your plan documents are the next source of truth.

What is an APN?
Access Point Name — the gateway address your phone uses to reach the carrier’s mobile-data network. Think of it as the “which door” setting for internet access. Voice calls and SMS don’t use it; mobile data does.
Do I need to set the APN on a travel eSIM?
Usually no. Modern eSIM profiles configure the APN automatically during install. Only reach for this lookup if data doesn’t work after installation and a reboot.
Where do I change the APN?
iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [your eSIM line] → Cellular Data Network. Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → [your eSIM] → Access Point Names. Only the data line’s APN matters.
I changed the APN and still have no data — now what?
Reboot first (required on most phones). Then check data roaming is ON for the travel line, confirm the line is selected for mobile data, and run our eSIM troubleshooter’s “no data” path.
Can a wrong APN break my phone?
No — worst case, mobile data stops working until you fix it. Calls, SMS and Wi-Fi are unaffected. Setting it back to automatic restores the default.
Why are there multiple APNs for one carrier?
Carriers run different gateways for consumer, business, and legacy plans (e.g. AT&T’s “phone” vs “nxtgenphone”). The lookup’s notes say which to try; when in doubt, your plan’s welcome email names the right one.
